Access and reuse policy

Open Broadcasting License

All articles published in the Arjé Academic Journal are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license.

This license allows you to:

  • Attribution (BY): You must give appropriate credit to the authors, include a link to the license, and indicate if any changes were made.

  • Non-Commercial (NC): Use of the material for commercial purposes is not permitted. Commercial use is defined as use primarily intended to obtain a commercial advantage or direct monetary compensation.

  • ShareAlike (SA): If the work is modified, adapted, or remixed, the derivative work must be distributed under the same license.

Retention of rights by authors

Authors retain their moral and economic rights at all times, including:

  • Acknowledgment of authorship.

  • The integrity of the work.

  • The decision regarding its disclosure.

Authors also retain the right to reuse, distribute, or deposit their articles in institutional or personal repositories, provided that the original publication in the Arjé Academic Journal is clearly cited and the Self-Archiving Policy is followed.


Authorization for the Arjé Academic Journal

If the manuscript is accepted for publication, the authors grant the Arjé Academic Journal (Costa Rica) the right to edit, publish, and distribute the article, without this implying any loss of the authors’ moral or economic rights, which means that the Journal may:

10.1 The graphic and stylistic editing of the work or part thereof.

10.2 The publication and reproduction in full of the work or any part thereof, whether in print or electronic form, including the Internet and any other technology currently known or yet to be developed.

10.3 The translation of the work or any part thereof into any language or dialect.

10.4 Adapting the work to formats for reading, audio, speech, and any other available representation or technical mechanism that enables access for people who are partially or totally blind, or who have any other disability that prevents them from accessing the article through conventional reading.

10.5 The distribution and making available of the work to the public, so that the audience can access the productions at a time and place of their choosing, through available physical or electronic means.

10.6 The work must be distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0), which means that readers may download, store, copy, distribute, and adapt the final approved and published version of the article, provided that authorship is properly acknowledged, the work is not used for commercial purposes, and derivative works are shared under the same license.


Reuse rights for authors

Authors may:

  • Upload the manuscript to institutional or personal repositories (self-archiving), in accordance with the Self-Archiving Policy of the Arjé Academic Journal.
  • Reuse all or part of your work in books, chapters, or other publications.

  • Share the article on academic and social media platforms.

In all cases, the original source of publication must be cited using the following format:

Originally published in the academic journal *Arjé*, National Technical University, Costa Rica.


Statement of Originality and Responsibility

The authors declare that the submitted manuscripts are original and that they have obtained the necessary permissions for the use of any third-party copyrighted material included in the work.

Any infringement of copyright or related rights shall be the sole responsibility of the authors, and neither the National Technical University nor the Arjé Academic Journal shall be held liable.
