Resumo

On this occasion, we present the story of Carmen Monge Hernández, an academic in extension and full professor at the National University of Costa Rica (UNA). She has teaching experience at the university level and has served as an advisor to extension projects of UNA’s Vice-Rectorate for Extension. She holds a PhD with international distinction in Local Development and Development Cooperation from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain. She completed research stays at the Center for Human Development and Higher Education at the University of the Free State (UFS), South Africa (2015), and at the National University of Rosario, Argentina (2017). Her areas of interest include human development, the Latin American public university, university extension, and participatory local development.
