Abstract

This article identifies the factors that limit the faculty at the San Carlos campus of the National Technical University from publishing their research projects in academic journals, despite the fact that each year there is a number of faculty members with active research projects. To this end, two questionnaires were conducted between 2023 and 2024, systematized and graphed using Google Forms. These were administered to faculty at the San Carlos campus in order to identify these limiting factors and propose strategies to address these weaknesses.

This research adds new evidence to the state of knowledge on the subject. At the international level, studies have attributed the problem to a lack of knowledge or training in research and scientific article publication, as well as to factors associated with a lack of incentives or excessive workloads that lead to a loss of interest in publishing, demonstrating that, in the case analyzed, these three factors converge.
