El proyecto Festival de Talentos de Vida Estudiantil de la Universidad Técnica Nacional, Sede Central, nació en el año 2016 como parte de las estrategias propuestas en la consolidación del Programa Recreativo, el cual tiene como objetivo ofrecer espacios que promuevan el fortalecimiento humano de la comunidad estudiantil universitaria a través de proyectos y actividades recreativas.
Cinco años consecutivos de realización del Festival, han permitido fortalecer el sentido de pertenencia e identidad universitaria, mediante espacios de integración estudiantil; siendo la música, danza, baile, artes visuales, literatura, entre otros, el motivo de encuentro.
En el año 2020 y 2021, el festival ha representado para la comunidad estudiantil una oportunidad para desafiar el distanciamiento social debido a la pandemia del Covid-19; que, aún de forma virtual, ha permitido estrechar vínculos entre estudiantes de diferentes carreras y sedes que desean mostrar sus habilidades artísticas y, de esta forma, fortalecerse como comunidad universitaria.
