Historia de Vida de Samuel (Sung Yub Han)

Abstract

El significado del nombre SungYub Han es un buen punto de partida para contar la historia de la vida de Samuel, docente y coordinador del Centro de Estudios Coreanos de la Universidad Técnica Nacional (UTN). Políglota, ya que aparte de su idioma materno, habla el español, el inglés, el francés y alemán, convirtiéndose en un ciudadano bicultural, ya que no pertenece a un país sino a muchas culturas.

Samuel nació en Corea, por lo cual, su nombre en coreano es SungYub. Nombre que nos permite conocer su origen y significado de cientos de años: Sung quiere decir Santo, y Yub quiere decir Luz. En raíces chinas, que tienen una relación con el idioma coreano, como el latín y el griego para el español, el significado de Han y su escritura de Han en chino es el nombre del país, pero también es su apellido. Es como si alguien se llamara “Juan Costa Rica” en nuestro país.
