Abstract

The university academic must reinvent themselves, since knowledge is dynamic and transforms day by day. It is no longer possible to continue with the postulates of the positivist paradigm in educational processes, which exalt the figure of the professor and grant them the role of bearer of knowledge and truth. In this context, excessive use of memorization, control, uniformity, and exclusively rational thinking is privileged. A change in perspective is necessary, as proposed by the emergent paradigm, which takes into account students’ feelings, self-discovery, reflective processes, and interactive experiences.
