Globalization and the changes associated with the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) across all business sectors require organizations—both public and private—to improve and strengthen their processes and activities. Consequently, they have been compelled to stimulate their most important resource: human talent. In this regard, a study conducted at Yara Costa Rica, a fertilizer company located in the province of Puntarenas, showed that continuous training is not synonymous with the development of skills for the daily tasks of its operators. Likewise, it was evidenced that training activities should be designed and delivered in more interactive, dynamic, and learning-centered environments. It is worth noting that the diagnostic process and evaluations made it possible to identify low levels of motivation and limited impact of the training program, which affect the company’s productivity and economic performance. Based on the identified findings, strategies were established to correct pedagogical shortcomings, and various training initiatives were implemented under an integral skills development approach, focused on different domains of knowledge (knowing how to be, knowing how to live together, knowing, and knowing how to do), with the aim of generating a positive impact on the organization’s operational activities and on employees’ performance.
